127.0.0.1 IP problem

Since everyone appears with 127.0.0.1 IP , bans are impossible, however, google analytics sees different ips for each user so the problem may lay in some other part.
This is for Crise: if you can post more technical problems I can fill in a report to SF. net they were very nice in helping last time I tried

Well the best technical detail I can give is that this is just standard installation of phpbb (with the exception of some links to the projects persistent directory to get caching working and stuff), and such problem is not known to happen anywhere else...

It seems that sf.net is not in the mood of helping. Perhaps posting on phpbb forum ( once its up again ) would help

Well this is not phpbb issue at all, its SF, since RSX and its SMF installation seema to have the same problem as far as I can see.

Also I believe the reason for SF's lack of interest is because this is not a "Hosted App" and your ticket seems to be in a category related to them (hosted app = an app hosted by sourceforge f.ex. http://apps.sourceforge.net/phpbb/dcplusplus/ would be a hosted app were it enabled

Yes but only the kind that can be accessed through: http://apps.sourceforge.net/phpbb/project-name/

ie. installations managed 100% by SF, and integrated to the SF account database

According to the SF.net staff, the 127.0.0.1 IP problem is intentional. They wanted to hide the IP of the visitors for unknown purposes. They are willing to consider our request. We will see if something new comes up in the future...

Would be nice since we kinda need it to ban spammers cause lets face it banning localhost wouldn't be that good for us
