Regarding this, and yeah I know I am late, I cannot do a thing as of now since Catalin has ownership of all files in the projects web directory. So no overwriting files for me. (I was only able to fix the cache issues back then because those directories had 777 as chmod).

PS: also looks like phpbb.com got fucked by somebody, but that shouldn't really be a problem, just thought you might wanna know.

Well if Catalin can get chown to work then it will be easy but I tried to change the ownership of a file I had created and no avail, said invalid user or something, when I was trying to assign ownership to Catalin (and I did double check the username). Must be these odd interactive shell sessions SF uses now whatever that means then.

Slight update, after Catalin (or someone) figures how to do something about the file issues so that I can upgrade phpbb, we should test something before going with mods (since I don't really like modding core phpbb files for upgrade reasons).

What I mean is that we should test if such a simple thing as changing the default noise settings for the image verification would solve this issue, since as one phpbb developer stated it is always the default settings for image checks that get broken by bots.

If there isn't anyway to change ownership on the files, I will help Crise to update the installation , but I'm busy until friday so I can't do much until that moment.

On windows i use winscp to log in, with username,[email protected] then I can do all the usual things like chown etc.

I assume you guys that are on linux has a similar client that you can use. It also gives me the possibility to set a default file permission (I set 0664) that is used everytime so I dont have to bother remember to set it manually.

All the difference seems to be how one logs in to sf.
