DC++ on Mac OS 9

A friend of mine runs only Mac OS 9, so he can’t taste the world of DC since NMDC is only for OS X, so I was wondering if you guys could make a version of DC++ that worked on OS 9. I will soon be getting an older Imac with 9 on it, and I would also like to use it.

I'm pretty sure this topic has been covered and that the creator doesn't want to spend time porting dc++, however it is open source so if you wanted to you could port it yourself. However there may be another client that someone made already for OS 9. Try searching this forum for "mac" you'll likely get a few threads on the same subject.

This is no small thing you ask for. It would:
a) suck, since my only OS9 running mac is sitting, partially gutted, in my closet.
b) take a long time, both to replicate the DC+ gui on whatever toolkits the mac provides for windowing (but mostly learning the platform)
c) require a lot of motivation to be completed,
d) be a waste of effort, since OS9 has no future.

You're free to run VirtualPC and run DC++ under that. It may, sadly, be the only way you'll get a DC client running on your mac.
