some p2p clients work behind firewall (kazaa, tesla) so why dc doesn't? why it use some extra ports instead of the open ones like 80,443 etc?

all clients who work right away are in passive mode. furthermore, the direct their traffic through common ports in attempts to get around firewalls/port blocking. As for why it doesn't try those methods, I'm not sure.
