DC++ = Spyware?

I recently got kicked iut from a hub for using NetLimiter. NetLimiter is set to my Maximun upload value, to make the download go smother. This really has improved my download performance, but have hardly not had an impact on my uploads.

I was really surprised that DC++ is working as a Spyware! This really brings my thoughts back to the crappy Kaazaa. Why is it possible to use DC++ for spying on my computer??? Are there more "features" like this?

DC++ DOESN'T work as spyware and noone can see if you are running netlimiter or not but perhaps they can notice that you're limiting your uploads in some way, or perhaps you shared netlimiter?[/b]

OK, thanks! This was what I wanted to hear! I shared NetLimiter and then they probably assumed that I used it and kicked me for that!

While NetLimiter is a great tool to balance the bandwidth taken by various networks (BT, eMule, DC, IRC, Usenet ...) some ppl seem to believe it's malicious to try keeping some bandwidth for other applications than DC++

eMule has a neat way to make sure everyone is able to balance up/dl speed. Since DC++ is missing a BALANCE feature like that (that means that you HAVE to upload with X% of your dl Bandwidth) it's only natural that people start using tools for that.

Before using DC++ I never needed an app like NetLimiter, but now it's the only way to keep a 'balance'

If by that you mean the eMule enforces a download cap when you have a low upload cap (<10kbyte/s)... The DC++ mods with speed limiting also have that feature. That's why I'd rather people use them than NetLimiter.
