identifing/naming half-downloaded files

i should know if a file is done or not, when i browse my download directory (without checking in my download queue)

naming of files just being downloaded should be real name (including extensions) + ".tmp" or ".dcp" or something. Plus extension to remove when file is ready. Not-yet-ready files have multiple extension, outer ext is noticeable ".dcp"

Until then
1. I can identify which-is-which (kazaa-style "xy123.tmp" random names are not good),
2. I can see if somehing is fully or partially downloaded, even if i dont know the exact size of the file

Have a separate folder for unfinished downloads. You can specify this in settings.

Incomplete downloads are already identified with different filenames. They are of the form Filenamexxxxxxxx.extension where xxxxxxxx is a string of eight random characters.
