Change the Connection types

I think it's about time to change the connection type alternatives, beacuse I think the T-system is out of date.
First, and the most important, is it posible to do?
If a change is made, will the version be incompatible with the other versions?

My arguments about this is who the hell have a T1(1.5Mbit) och a T3 (44MBit) line? No one?! The T-system is old and is used to define telefone lines, but now in our new fiber world it's about time to change!
How about change it to 10Mbit and 100Mbit, then the option will be more correct!

As far as I can see, they serve no purpose whatsoever, as these discrete values can in no way represent the myriad connection types available today. So why worry about it?

I think it's good to know what connection ppl have, it helps to prioritise who to download from. I don't see the bad thing about changing from the T-system.
There are not so many connection types but there is alot of conncetions with different bandwidth. But I don't think it's a big difference between them as in the T-case (100Mbit is over 50Mbit faster than a T3-line).
Another alternative is to have two choises, one for the connection type and another for the bandwidth (bouth up- and downstream)

Yeah, knowing the speed is most important, but sometimes one cannot decibe between T1 and Satellite, so maybe it will be better if upload speed (d/l is not important at all) showed in numbers (i.e: 384kb, or 50K) so you can choose between DSLs as well (ADSL can have 8 or 16K u/l speed)

Still it is an option a user can apply.....
I mean there are so many 13yr old kiddies who will turn the 100Mbit option, while they use a 128Kbit line. If you really want people to know your connection type, put it in your name tag or something. Unless a tool can be implemented that tests connection speeds of course....

I think the opposite behaviour is more likely. They would most likely advertise themselves as a 56k modem so that others would avoid downloading from them.

Ye, ppl will use it wrong, but that's the case today too...
There ARE honerst ppl (I think, my mother says that sometimes ), and hope fully they will use it right.
