Sharing files over a lan

Post by yoden- » 2003-12-04 23:32

i have a nice, new computer, with plenty of harddrive space to share my files, 70 gbsish.

unfortunately, i have evil siblings that want to do silly things with my good system (like play the sims  )

what i tried to do was install dc++, and then share network neighborhood -> new computer -> share files

unfortunately, neither DC++ or oDC can see the other computer(s) on the network

the neo modus client sees the folders, and allows you to share them, but when you click "ok" the list is checked and they are removed

so i was wondering if anyone knew of an alternative client that would allow this, or, to suggest it to the dc++ crew so i dont have to switch clients

Yes, this is intentional behavior. As Sedulus points out, you must map the drive to share it.
