Ditto for my desktop. I upgraded when my 20GB disk died. I thought 120GB was plenty of room, but it's amazing how quickly you can fill it with all sorts of crap!

I also have a 20GB disk in my laptop.

In that case, I guess I should also mention that I still have my 20GB disk still in the machine. Just not connected to anything. I had nowhere to put it!

I also have an old 1.5 GB disk in a box somewhere (from my first ever computer).

Main PC (Running Windows 2003 server + Citrix Metaframe XP):

36GB IBM Ultra160 SCSI Disk (Windows, Applications, Games etc...)
72GB Quantum Ultra320 10K SCSI Disk (Video Capture)

4x 200GB Maxtor UDMA Disks in RAID 0+1 giving ~ 390GB of usable space.

2nd PC (Running Netware):
120 GB Maxtor UDMA Disk

Spare (Read old) disks:
20GB, 14.4GB, 3.2GB lying around somewhere.

And yes, they are all completely full (apart from the vidcap disk).

One computer with one 30gb dsic with one 22gb partiton running windows and the rest in multplir samm partions with linux. One 80 gb disc for storage and one old 5gb only used to transfer files between linux and windows).

I'm a CD man myself (ie "Off to a CD with you", not "Meh. You can stay there"), so it will take ages before it fills up.

I suppose I'm a CD man because of the fear of my HDD dying (it's happened before, a few times) and losing ~10G data

A person on my campus used to pretty much be our entire DC Hub. I think he had near 3TBs total. He had incredible equipment because he was a big beta tester for companies; he didn't pay anything for the equipment. He was just to do extensive testing on the hardware, and he ended up making the data storage more optimized.

Hmm.. lemme see
40 gigs (has Windows installed + some allocated for linux)
80 gigs (datafiles, + some used for another Linux installation)

I really don't know how much has been lost because of three installed OS'es.. so I think I'm going to buy another 120-160 gigs just to start a fresh install, and moving data from old HD's, format partitions etc etc..

Okay, so I bough 2x160 and made a RAID mirror. Two months after the purschase, all space is filled up :/

Maybe I should make it a striped RAID instead...
