It would be nice to have a button "resolve IP adress" which checks the IP at a service like whatismyip.com and fills it in the ip field automatically

very easy for newbies

Sure it would be really convenient, but it would increase traffic immensely on the site that would be chosen. I have added a Detect IP button that goes to www.whatismyip.com, but employing it in the standard DC++ would cause a large amount of traffic to the site that ended up being chosen.

does arnie have a problem with the $UserIP extension in some clients? as that is a really nice way to update the ip
