i try searching for somthing and the generated results do not show up in the window. The scroll bar gets smaller indicating that the results are there but i can not see them. I have tried this in both passive, and active mode. i dont htink im running on a firewall.
also, what port should i set it for active mode, i couldnt really figure out a straight answer from the faq.

See if the same thing happens with DC++ v.251, it's available here http://sourceforge.net/project/showfiles.php?group_id=40287
Any port between 1024 and 65535 will work just fine.

If the headings have are not visible, they have somehow all been set to width 0.
To fix it, do the following:
1. Close DC++.
2. Open DCPlusPlus.xml in notepad.
3. Find the line containing <SearchFrameWidths> and remove it.
4. Save and close the document.
5. Reopen DC++.
6. Search for something and report back here if it works.
