I have noticed in another p2p program(not the one of my choice) that you can specicify a port to download on if your isp is blocking or limiting the default dc++ port, 411 i think and it would be very useful as i can only go at 3 k instead of 30 at the moment with dc++ and the files are pretty ordinary elsewhere. you probably only need to borrow some code and put it in there and it works just fine.

You will simply have to use a different hub...one that uses a port other than the default one. Just look in the hublist. The number after the ":" is the port number.

I don't see another solution, unless I am missing something.

are u sure they are blocking the remote port?
Have you tried changing the port your client uses?

I have tried playing with the ports, I sit at my computer at strange hours of the morning and have seen it go at 30k occaionaly but useally it goes at 3 k my previous provider went at full speed all the time.
I have had to resort to kaaza++ it has a option to use port 80 and any other one you like, port 5000 work great but anything else goes at 3k per download they have built this option into the firewall control.
I know a lot of the overseas isps are good but in aus we have cowboys and all they want to let you do is email and the web.

Are your uploads affecting your downloads, maybe? If so, use the small send buffer option available in the advanced tab in the settings window.
