Users Unable to Complete Downloads of my Files?

Post by Dim Dino » 2006-06-13 20:58

Quite often I see a long red column that after much toil and anticipation by a user stops short of just being completed and retracts a few inches, starting over again from there, looking like the file can never be completely downloaded. What's happening here? Is the user stuck in a Sisyphos situation because flaws with my film files or something?

I'd hate it if such a thing happened to me.

Is the file above 4 GB? Then the person probably use FAT32 as their file system, which cannot store files larger than 4 GB-1 byte.

No, it's typical film files. Say, 695 MiB, 700 MiB size range. Disturbing isn't it.

Is the total size of the upload not equal to the file size, and keeps increasing? If so, it's caused by a client doing (or capable of doing) multisource downloading, most likely StrongDC++.
