Something else to try is looking for files that you know will have a ton of possible sources. Look up a popular song and try that. You will find many users with open slots, so finding a connection is not tough.

However, I remember having this problem - exaclty the same thing. I recall (it was a long time ago...) that the problem due to a firewall. Check windows firewalls and any firewalls that may be on your router / modem and ensure that ports are forwarded correctly.
