Stopped hashing on E drive; now files are missing

Post by jwentz » 2005-12-12 21:43

I am very new to DC ++, just setting it up today. Added my music directory as the shared folder, but then mid-way through hashing things were going ridiculously slow and I removed the folder, and now about 3/4 of the music files are missing!

I looked at the HashIndex.xml file and clicked on one of the missing songs. It opened in itunes (meaning it wasnt completely deleted), which automatically made a new folder/file in the music directory... but it was only half of the song.

Does anybody know what is going on here?

Were you using windows explorer to check on the files in the E: drive? Reboot and make sure they are still there. DC++ touching them isn't going to delete them, but it could trigger an existing disk problem to show up. Try a generic windows scandisk on that drive.
