Windows XP SP2 will block DC++ because of the built-in firewall doesn't have the ports, that DC++ run on, opened. It has nothing to do with number of connections. SP2 limit the number of TCP connection per second to 10, but again, this has nothing to do with DC++.

Google for XP-Antispy to resolve the connection limit.

You would get an popup if you tried connection to the internett with DC++. So you can allow it or not. If I don't remember false.

Considering the XP SP2 TCP connection limit is 10 incomplete outgoing TCP connections per second, that implies that the sheer number of connections your computer was making before applying that patch was very large, flooding DC++ connections out. That level of flooding == zombie.

Just whispering: that XPSP2 setting should have no effect on DC++ in a generic case.

That's horrible advice!
just go to control panel, windows firewall, and add DC++ to the exceptions list.
