can anyone guide me in the right direction plz, which version numbers do i need etc?

i cant find the download anyway or info as i have tried searching

i did search, anyway i tried the links u given me and worked my through them i learnt a bit more info thanks and have installed the neccassary programs...

but the problem i am having now is when i try and connect to my hub i get this error

" Connection refused by target machine"

i have checked all my firewalls are off and my ip details are correct, im not to sure of the port and have put that at 80

i have searched for " Connection refused by target machine" in the searching forums, but there was nothing that helped my problem.

Is there any particular reason why you chose 80?

The line above is ambiguous. Did you put port 80 in the hub software or the client software?

I registered with no-ip.com and put my ip address in and selected DNS HOST A, I put in my ip address and selected allow wildcard.

In the direct hub configuration programme -

Name: blahblah.no-ip.com

Address was my ip address and I put my port as 1973?? Not sure if that makes a difference, as I was told this is a could port number if u have firewalls

Redirect address: blahblah.no-ip.com

I am using the DC++261 programme, am I meant to put any settings in here aswell?

If the client is on the same machine as the hub you should connect to 127.0.0.1(local machine)

i want to set up a hub so people can download off me, i have registered an account at no-ip.com and that had my i.p address, i have attached an image and wrote in red fake* details, these details the domain name i have put in the direct connect hub interface (the host name) and the (ip address)

ok i have this installed under a folder called (direct connect hub) within that on the program menu there are four other programme/files within that, i select direct connect hub interface, and i get the image above, under the connections tab. what settings do i put in that one?

the image below is the main dc++ programme, i have attached the image to find out if i need to change any settings here to match up with the above?

another question is i am i meant to have something else running while dc++ is trying to connect?

direct connect hub ver2 is for developer, i do not recommand you to use it, unless it's for testing or development purpose.

name = your choice
description = describe the hub purpose
address = jack-son.no-ip.com
port = port the hub will listen to

in DC favorites hub
clic on new
hub section
name = name to reconize the hub, usualy same as hub name
address = IP of the puter the hub is running on or addy(jack-son.no-ip.com:yyyy)
note 1: addy can create a problem if using a router, in that case use, 127.0.0.1 if the client is running on same puter as hub.
if on an other puter then the hub is running use the puter IP of the puter running the hub.(use ipconfig on the puter that run the hub to find it.)
format of the IP is xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx:yyyy

in identification
name = nick_you_want
password = *********** <--- by the way this is my password don't use it :wink:

description = optionnal, description of yourself or what you share.

to appear has OP in your hub you will need to register yourself in your hub soft.
use same same nick/password as in identification.

i have downloadeded

DC++ v0.262 for Windows - the main programme from this site.

and downloaded the direct connect hub from

note it says i need 1.091 installed. but i cant find this anywhere on both sites...

when i have installed the hub i have only one file in the folder called 'dc hub' i dont have the interface programe, i only get that when i install version 2.0*and the uninstall icon, and when i try and click on the programme to start i get this error

Indeed. I suggest you complain to the NeoModus webmaster.

Note that neither of those two pieces of software are affiliated with DC++.

i managed to get them both and install it, i think now my problem lies with my ip address and im behind a router, i need to change the ip address in my router i have a mentor 4 port router, does anyone know how i can configure it

Short answer: Router manual

by the way xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx:yyyy <--- yyyy is the port the hub listen to.

ok in the listening port it simply said 411 do i keep it this way, do i replace this with my external ip or internal ip followed i.e. 192.168.1.1:411 or 81.xx.xxx.xx:411 etc

i have forwarded the port 411 on my router settings

in my ip address do i put my external ip or my internal ip again. i have tried various settings and kept the hub open, then i go to open direct connect to connect to the server i created, but it says "disconnected from hub"

i am behind a router and as it is being installed on the same machine as the router, do u think it will only work from other computers and not this one? as im hosting a website on my computer and i can only access that 'live' via proxy from the computer its installed on

IÃ‚Â´m not sure if I have understand this right, but if you are trying to connect to the hub from the same computer as the hub are running youÃ‚Â´ll have to connect to it using your local ip. In the listening port field can you do you put the port number you want the hub to look for connections on, under registerinfo is there a box called "My IP Adress" there you shall put you external ip(or dns name if you have riegister for one).

hi m8 i have managed to get into the hub using my local ip as u said, it asked me for my password as i registered a name. so when i give out the external ip (registered with no-ip.com) do they have to enter passwords etc or will they automatically be entered?

I figured it out how anyone can have access, now one of my main questions is, for anyone to connect to my hub, does my computer always have to be on? and also do i always have to have the hub server information open?

and if the answer is yes to either is there a way i can always have more hub active without keeping my computer on, is there a way i can host it on a site or something?

the hub is up while u have the hub software open so therefore ur computer must always be on in order for the hub to always be up
