Queue.xml reverting

I am having some problems with Queue.xml reverting to an old version if DC++ crashes, which seems to lead to files newly added to download disappearing, and any file I have moved to a different location being re-downloaded. Can anyone tell me when and how this file updates itself, and if there is any way to update it without closing the program and reopening it. I have quite a lot of shares which are network shares, and take forever to authenticate, so that is not an ideal workaround.
