One finished up/download window

Wouldn't it be nicer to have the finished up- and downloads window merged to one? divided by tabs. That way there could also be a 'system log' tab where general information about dc++ wil be added, like crashes, refreshing of user list, search attempts, etc

I like it, and think that there are a number of windows in DC++ that could be grouped together, eg. Public hubs and favourite hubs.

I was just thinking, there could be more tabs like

• "hub messages" (like: "disconnected/reconnected from hub foo", futhermore things like kicks, bans, hub messages, etc)
• filelist messages (like "filelist reloaded", "finished/failed hashing: file.txt")
• chat log (all the conversations you had)
• search log (like: "searched for file.avi, 0 results", "matched 10 items for user abc12")
• transfer log (like: "disconnected by user123", "switching to source:user2","started downloading from user3","warning: disk full")
• custom (let the user decide what events are showed here)
• all (show all the events)

(and there are more things you can think of)

Also, there could be tiny icons for each sort of action, to have a nice clean overview, and maybe a text file to output everything (so you can read back things from previous dc++ sessions)

The current way is to log all the events to the statusbar, but this is barely readable and most times things happen in the background so you are unable to notice it.

Sure is.

My plans for messages was to make a "System Log" window. I was thinking of having priorities (random examples: informative, normal, critical), and perhaps "type" (rand examples: downloads, shares, uploads) and allow the user to set up a filter in the window for which ones they wanted to see.

I wasn't thinking of combining any windows other than the public hub / favorite users / favorite hub ones.

It's afflicted by the same problem as with the other status bar. Hold the mouse over it and it eventually disappears, never to return.

I know... it affects my XP laptop, but not my 2k home system. There's an open bug on it too... arne made some changes to the tooltip in the MainFrm - does it still disappear on XP?

You know, I'm not sure if that's better or worse than the previous tooltip problem - of the progress bars overwriting them.
