I think this would be good for people who want rarer files in their collection to actually be downloadable while they share episodes and such
upload: giving priority to certain files?

upload: giving priority to certain files?
Would it be possible to have a feature that would let you specify certain files that, when another client requested them, your client would automatically open a slot to that person?

"but we believe that we will be able to recoup much of the cost through a special pay-per-view TV special, in which the staff members responsible for the problems will commit ritual suicide to atone for their sins."

This can be done with the current protocol. The exchange looks like this (not exact):
[remote client wants a file]
Remote > Hub: ConnectToMe [targetNick] [ip & port]
targetNick connects to user
[handshake, including deciding who gets to download (both users might have queued from the other ) ]
downloader to targetNick: $Get [filename] [resume position]
[targetNick has no free slots]
targetNick to downloader: $MaxedOut
Currently, DC++ checks the length of the file and gives the user the file if it's small or if it's a bz2 file list.
This can be done, with some work.
I think a full upload queue is a little more realistic form for this to take.
(gah, ugly post)
