Always allow Filelist download even if there is no free Slot

Post by mkay » 2003-02-04 21:04

Hi,

my Proposal is to allow the download of the Filelist even if there is no free Slot.

Why?

Filelists are mostly very short, and this would help to gain infos and flag Files before leaving the House ;)

After loading the Filelist, the exceptional Slot can be closed again by the Host.

if you're talking about upload slots:
-- 0.13 2002-01-19 --
* Users can now download files <16kb and file lists regardless of free slots (!)

if you're talking about download slots:
-- 0.23 2003-01-30 --
* Highest priority downloads are now always started (even if the exceed the speed & max downloads limits), this way
important files, file lists and small files always get downloaded...(uhm, this might have the side effect that a
list download might disconnect another slot if a file change for the other one occurs during the list transfer...
if this becomes a problem, I'll look into it "later" =) (completely untested...hope it doesn't break downloading =)

note that the latter will only work if you are not already downloading a file from that user.
the way it works now, you can't interrupt your download to get some other file.
