Multiple hub list download

Post by Mr.Freeze » 2003-04-11 20:08

Heya,
With an older version of DcPlusPlus, i can remember having appended hub list urls with";". After a system crash with no backup, i can't do it anymore...
Why?
Pasted on "Public Hub List URL", it won't work.
What's the difference with "HTTP Proxy"?
Thanx,
Mr.Freeze

There'an outstanding bug that you might be seeing, but the ; separation should work in hub lists. But I'm not sure it behaves the way you're expecting it to. (I'm not certain how it behaves myself, I haven't done any code diving.)

I figured it just gave the client a list of backup servers to lookat if it can't find the first one and so on. For example, if you have the sourceforge list first and then neomodus' (please don't kill me for saying that word d-: ) second.

I haven't played around with it much since I found a hub that I like very much for the most part, however, if it doesn't already do this, what I really think it should do is actually get the lists from every link you give it and combine them (removing duplicates of course, keeping the one from the list with the newer timestamp.) Such a thing would make it possible for one to have a very large list of hubs for those really hard to find things d-:

You're right, DC++ tries to open the first hublist, displays an error message in case of failure, and discards the url until restart. Next time the hublist is required (by pressing refresh or closing/opening the Public Hubs window), DC++ tries with the second URL (if present). It does not do any combining.
