Client to client chat.

Post by wickedsun » 2003-03-25 22:06

Would it be possible to make a Client-to-Client chat? If someone gets disconnected from a hub, you still can contact them..

/me thinks this is a great idea and is glad it poped in his head.

If this feature makes up, I'd like a confirmation dialog: if I'd like to contiune chatting with the another part when I left the hub. (I mean, that it exists the posibility to finish the chat session when I left the hub)

Sorry my english

This functionality would require many enhancements to the protocol.
Currently all chat messages go through the hub.

When you send a message, you actually tell the hub that you would like to send "this text" to user "x", and the hub does the work for you.

It would be nice if a currently open chat window would still work if the user drops out of the hub, but I don't think new windows should popup, not even an "accept message" confimation box.
