Implement Video files control

Post by agavss » 2004-06-10 08:54

I've downloaded a lot of files that, if i open with virtualdub, have much streaming problem..
It's possible to implement the control of virtualdub when i open dc++?
Seems to be an unuseful feature but if this control is activated i have the certainty that the video i wont to download is "perfect".

ps: sorry for my english

What exactly are you talking about? Metadata? It's been discussed, search for it.

Correct me if i'm wrong, but wouldn't you need to download the whole file anyway to make sure it's not corrupted? Sounds like a non-essential feature to me.

Corrupted video files? Oh my.

If you're not using a multi-source derivative of DC++ (none of them can be safe when downloading from normal DC++ sources until the next release), that's even more troublesome. I suggest you enable Safe and Compressed transfers under Advanced and try to pick the most popular version of any file to download. Hopefully the version with the most copies (judging by TTH) isn't the corrupt version.

This request is somewhat similar to a couple I've seen before about integrating an AVIPreview like feature into DC++. (It'd be fine to detect the presence of the avipreview.exe program and offer a context menu choice for it, but the AVI-checking code won't likely ever appear inside DC++.)
