Moderate references to copyrighted material?

When a post comes in which refers specifically to copyrighted material, what is the appropriate action?

In this thread http://dcplusplus.sourceforge.net/forum/viewtopic.php?t=6867
he said that he had found a popular game in several hubs, but didn't want to download it because he couldn't afford 10 cents far a CDR.

Possible courses of action..
1. Move the post here. End of story.
2. Move the post here and inform the user not to talk about copyrighted material via a PM.
3. Edit the post, remove the reference to copyrighted material. State in the edit that I did so. (which is the choice I picked in this case)
4. Edit the post, remove the reference. But, make no mention of copyrighted material.
5. Leave it be.

I don't want to over-moderate. Nor do I want to under-moderate.

I usually do #2 but also reiterate that this place is dedicated to the DC++ client (yes, using the bold ) and that if they have questions/comments about it, then they should fee free to post.

ie. rather than saying "don't talk about this" you are saying "don't talk about this, but it's perfectly fine to talk about *that*" so it ends up as a positive message (I hope).

Actually, here's the most recent one I sent:

I have removed the thread mentioned in the Subject.

This is not a warez site. Please do not ask questions about downloading specific things like games.

This place is about Help/Support/Discussion regarding DC++. If you have any questions/comments about the DC++ client then please free to post.

Although from now on I think I will use the phrase "copyrighted material" as it sounds better.

Note that I haven't been told to do it in this way. This is just what makes the most sense to me.

Anyhow, it's copyrighted material that you don't have permission to redistribute that's the problem.

After all, the DC++ Client is copyrighted... but you have permission to redistribute it because of the GPL.

Which makes me wonder whether sharing installers and drivers is really "safe"
