Sorry for the late start here but just got off a 76 hour work week...don't want any more of those.
I'm getting an error running the hub. I tried .15 first but get the same error on .14 too. At first I didn't have msvcr70.dll in my path but I had several copies in various directories on my hd so I copied one from /winnt/system32/URTtemp to the program directory...336k 01/05/2002 and quite getting the window.
And I don't have a language file. It shows example.xml but its not there and one dropped in from the client didn't change things. Could this cause the unhandled exception?

From my log files...

Unhandled exception 0x 3221225477 in ? (0x0100DD38) (see exceptioninfo.txt for more information)

the exceptioninfo.txt shows:

this keeps repeating at about 4megs of exceptioninfo.txt a second..

The hub's supposed to run fine without language file...remove the one from the client and try again (you'll find it in 0.15-config btw...example.xml)...

Anyway, that exceptioninfo is a bit useless, it seems like it's generated before dch++ has loaded because it doesn't make any sense...try these: http://phats0.d2g.com/dchpp/msvcrt.zip

No joy...I still get the same unhandled exception c0000005 which, from a goggle search, seems to be related to windoze's poor memory management. It may be trying to grab some memory that windoze doesn't want it to.

I'm going to shut down everything else thats running and try it alone tonight and see if something else may be the cause.

Well now it works. I didn't do anything or shut any thing off. It just came up and worked with no errors.

Well, the only thing i did do was install a w2k security update that was waiting but I hadn't rebooted when I tried it. After reboot, it still worked so the only thing I can imagine is that the window notifing me that the update was ready to install was some how to blame.

I'll have to wait for a new patch to release from mickysoft to comfirm so, in other words, it should be any day now

Oh, but that's quite common, if you install a security patch and don't reboot you'll have different versions of system dll's running, and that's fatal to any application using them...

But at that point, it hadn't installed it. It just downloads it and I have to give it permission to install. I did so and then it worked. But there is already a new patch that is in the same position, downloaded and ready to install, and no exceptions so that wasn't the cause. I hate to leave something at ghosts in the machine.

I'm going to try and switch to it from the nmdc hub tonight and see how it does with 50 something users.
