missing commands in plugins

Post by yakko » 2004-02-01 21:12

There's some changes in the latest plugins and scripts and I was wondering if they could be undone. -userinfo and -history are gone, +banuser no longer works on offline nicks, and +ipinfo reports "Allowed IP list: 0.0.0.0-255.255.255.255 (permanent): Everyone's welcome!" instead of the IP history. Any way those can change back to what they used to do?

+banuser -> use +bannick for offline users
-userinfo -> use +userinfo for online users, and +log nick (simplelog) for offline ones
-history -> use +log time (simplelog)
+ipinfo -> was +lookupip, you want -ipinfo, use +log ip or +log net

The log commands are do what I was looking for, however why doesn't +banuser affect offline users anymore. We liked that it banned both the user and ip even if it was offline, and it looked like it was working before this version.

Also why can't we do the non-OpCom commands via the hub bot?

.. no it didn't .. it only banned by nick because OpCom doesn't know IPs of offline users. I removed it so it would not _seem_ like it ipbanned the user as well.

only OpCom, SimpleLog and OpComExtra provide a bot-interface. I didn't find it useful to add that for other plugins/scripts.

Ah...I understand now, thanks

Would it be possible to add it? It's more convienient and there's a comfort level in entering commands where you know a slipup won't be seen by everyone in the chat.

how about simply making sure that lines beginning with a + won't ever be sent to the main chat, for OPs only.. ?

Whats wrong with just sending the + commands to the hub bot (ES in your case) ? Then they will never see it if a slipup occurs.
