I've installed the linux version of .28-2 at hub.iaconhub.com:5002 for my ops and some regulars to test out. Looks great so far, if everything works pretty well I'll replace the .27/win32 this week with it.

Even the Devhub is Nick busy: 2429 (19.36/h)

I think its something with your users or hub connection. I know that if I ungracefully disconnect from any DCH++ hub, I will get the nick still in use message when I try to logon again. Too bad DC++ doesnt do what NMDC does when your nick is in use, by appending a number to the end.

<somerandomnick> oldo, i dunno if u can help me, erm i leave my pc on overnight downloading but i have 56k and usually when i get disconnected and it auto-reconnects dcc tells me my username has already being used, so it wont connect and then resume downloading, is there anyway to stop this from happening?

I get this kind of message all day long.

me too. it's annoying and by the time they tell me the ghost nick is gone. If DCH++ could check nicks more frequently it might help.

we were messing with some of the commands today and an op at a lower level tried to kick me. While that didn't work, when I came back from another op at my level kicking me the op chat posted warns from both kicks.

On ghosts:
DCH++ tries to send data for 30 seconds to someone who's scheduled for disconnect (to allow kick messages to get through)...this is the max lifetime for a ghost in theory, so that's why the ghosts disappear after a short while...I'll lower this in the next release so it shouldn't be as noticable...
In practice, I suspect a bug, specially in the linux version that under strange circumstances keep the ghosts online anyway...I'm looking into it though...

opcomextra doesn't know that the kick failed, so that is logical, yes

perhaps I'll put the -warn feature in OpCom

Thanx Arne. The Ghosts seem to stay online in the order or 20 minutes, rather then seconds.

in linux I changed the WriteTimeout setting in dchpp.xml to 75. Now if I get disconnected I get the nick in use message, then it lets me in on the next retry. That setting says it's linux only though.

is it safe to give it such a low value?

The comments said to not go below 50, so I figure it's safe. I had similar results with 100 and other low values.

After moving my hub completely to linux I am experiencing this as well. We have a max user cap of 180 and hover around there. The linux version has MUCH less lag than the windows one though!
