HUB PROBLEm

Post by Wenom » 2006-07-05 09:02

I recently set up a hub on YnHub for our network (LAN), it works fine and everything, users are delighted, even set up a trivia bot on it...
But the other daysome fu*ker came in, made a scene, and after the scene he flooded... he joined with like 150 nicks from the same ip, it wasn't that much of a problem... banned him and userlimited the hub to 30!

My question is, how did he managed to join in with so many nicks from 1 ip, do you need a script for that? and how do i avoid these sort of problems in the future...?

Sorry for my bad spelling...

He used a client specially made for creating a lot of "fake" users. To stop him, use any of the various anti-flood clients / settings out there.

i said that in his other thread in the support forum...
maybe move that one here?
You can send a message around the world in 1/7 of a second; yet it may take several years to move a simple idea through a 1/4 inch of human skull.
