Newbie question - connecting

Hello,

I just registered today, and am trying to start
downloading and sharing. I installed DC++, and placed
>1GB of material to be shared.

I opened DC++, and found a user with the precise show
that I have been looking for - REM 9/14/87. I then
right-clicked on the user's name, and selected "Get
File List". The users name appears at the bottom of
the DC++ window. Under status it reads "connecting",
and then......nothing. After a while it will read
"Connection timeout", and then it will try to connect
again. But I can never get the user's file list to
begin downloading.

Any suggestions? Any help would be tremendously
appreciated!
