Getting banned

Post by blues76 » 2005-01-01 20:03

Most of the time the person in charge of the hub will at least type in a reason, but sometimes there are those asses who don't and then call you names and you have no way to respond. Every chance I get I check to see what my son downloads and if I find something that can get me banned, I delete it.
But the idiot at [AN] Anime Nation "Belldandy" is the real loser and a coward, if you want to call someone a loser don't disconnect them and give them a chance to explain. These type of people I would compare them to someone would shoot you in the back!

The only hub that we have a direct affiliation with is the DCDev Public hub. If you have issues with other ones, please hash them out elsewhere.

This is a major problem I see with this program (and the network upon which it operates). For a bunch of thieves who seem to enjoy breaking every copyright law known to man, these folks sure do have a lot of their own rules, eh?

Every few minutes or so in pretty much any hub you care to visit, you'll see so and so getting kicked or banned for the slightest little infraction of their rules. OK...is it REALLY that big of a deal to have an empty folder in your share? I tend to only visit the hubs that are listed as being public but heck...some of them have more strict rules than the hubs where you have to register!

I think this might cause people to shy away from programs like DC++ more than anything else. Heck...the least they could do is give you some sort of grace period when you fist start using a hub to get everything just the way they want it. And even if you don't, it'd be nice if they gave you a chance to fix whatever's wrong before they just boot you out. Some hubs do but most don't. You'll just get booted out any old time for the slightest reason.

Random ranting does not respect thread-ages ;)
